About
Built on what owners actually say.
Most product review sites tell you what brands want you to hear. theOwnerSay tells you what people report after months of real use.
The problem with most reviews
The best espresso machine review in the world is written by someone who owned that machine for two years — not someone who used it for a press weekend. The same is true for any product you commit to.
Long-term owner experiences are scattered across forums, community threads, and enthusiast discussions. No single review site synthesizes them. Until now.
How a verdict is made
We monitor owner discussions across enthusiast communities and forums — the places where real people ask about maintenance costs three years in, describe what broke first, and explain who they'd recommend the product to and who they'd warn away.
That discussion is synthesized into a structured Owner Verdict: headline, pros, cons, a representative owner quote, and long-term notes. The verdict updates weekly as community sentiment evolves. You always see when it was last updated.
We don't write our own opinions. We surface what owners consistently report.
What we cover
We started with coffee and espresso equipment — a category where long-term ownership experience matters enormously and community enthusiasm runs deep. Espresso machines are commitment purchases. Buyers spend weeks researching and years regretting or loving their choice. The difference is usually information that only surfaces in long-term ownership discussions.
We're expanding to other high-consideration categories. If you'd like to suggest a product category, reach out.
Editorial independence
theOwnerSay participates in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This funds the site.
Commissions never influence verdict content. If a product is widely criticized by long-term owners, the verdict reflects that — regardless of the commission rate. Products are included because they have significant owner communities to draw from, not because of affiliate economics.
We do not accept paid placements, sponsored verdicts, or manufacturer-influenced edits. The verdict content is generated from real community data and is never altered by commercial relationships.
Built by one person, not a content farm
theOwnerSay is built and run by Mathias, a software engineer based in Uruguay who got tired of review sites that read like they were written by the manufacturer. Every verdict goes through the same rigorous process — no exceptions, no shortcuts. See exactly how a verdict gets made →
